COSME, DIANA ROSE A., JAMILLA, SARAH MAE N. AND SAGUID, KAREN MEI L. DEVELOPMENT OF AN ELECTRONIC MUSICAL LEARNING SYSTEM FOR CHILDREN (MOBILE APPLICATION FOR ANDROID SYSTEM). A Project Design. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University-Rosario, Rosario, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Christopher G. Estonilo.
The study was conducted from July 2013 to January 2014 at Cosme's residence located in Noveleta, Cavite and at Jamilla's residence located at Daang Amaya, Tanza, Cavite to plan and observe households and the internet about the existing musical learning system. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1 plan a system that will help the children learn and understand sounds being produced in his/her surroundings, 2. analyze all the requirements needed to present and create this system, 3 design a learning system that would be easy to use, understand and gives related information to the user, and 4, implement the system that will teach the children on how to understand and appreciate music in a manner that they would enjoy.
Researches, interviews, and evaluations were conducted to observe problems and possible solutions for the manual system and also to acquire possible numbers of participants for the study. The number of participants has a total of two hundred (200) in population and divided into three groups: parents who do have children and students of BS Information Technology and BS Primary Education.
Traditional or manual musical learning system could possibly build up three scenarios: (1.) manual learning system - teacher - children; (2.) manual learning system - time and environment - children; and (3.) manual learning system - children - parents. The study revealed that the manual learning system can contribute or start small up to big problems especially with the children. This sets as an initiative to start with a concept that is suitable for the benefit of the children. Development of electronic learning system can somehow fill the lapses regarding the manual learning system and give brighter side about the learning process.
