Villa, MM, Technical Critic: Arman M. Ambas, MBA. Many businesses faced difficulties in dealing with the ongoing crisis as a result of the pandemic. This study entitled "Coping Mechanisms of Newly Opened Businesses in Kawit, Cavite to the New Normal" tackles the challenges and survival strategies that newly opened businesses are facing while operating under the new normal. The purpose of this research is to determine how these businesses in Kawit, Cavite continue to thrive in the face of a pandemic. It also aims recommendations to businesses and serves as a resource for aspiring researchers to make who are working on projects related to their studies. To gather data for this study researchers conducted online surveys which are answered by 20 businesses that has been in operation for less than a year. According to the data gathered, the majority of newly opened businesses in Kawit,Cavite are Food and Beverage businesses with sole proprietorship ownership. Because of the increased competition in the area, the majority of this business only earned about 10,000 pesos per month. This study also reveals that the most common issue that businesses face is a lack of safety precautions, in terms of exposing themselves to different people, which is indeed risky this pandemic. In addition, it demonstrates that using social media and maintaining a business's online presence is a good strategy in this pandemic. Providing delivery services and discounts is another great way to thrive during this difficult time.
