The sudden announcement of the nationwide lockdown to control the spread of COVID-19 induced the closure of the micro, small, and medium enterprises. It resulted in joblessness for many Filipino people, including the fruit vendor sector. This study investigated the challenges that fruit vendors among Tanza, Cavite had experienced during this pandemic and the coping mechanisms used to overcome those challenges. The researcher used the descriptive method and purposive sampling technique to gather relevant data. The majority of the challenges experienced by the participants during the pandemic in terms of operation include the changes of the policies and safety protocols, changes in a particular time to operate the business, and the decrease in the number of buyers. The most common challenges experienced by the participants concerning sales include; low income, changes in price, and lack of a potential buyer. In addition, challenges experienced by the participants in terms of marketing their business include the difficulty in selling fruits and on keeping up with changing marketing rules and regulation. They have also experienced a lack of resources or supply of fruits. The majority of the coping mechanisms used by the participants in the operation of their business includes adapting the changes in time of operation and following the protocols, considering other option of selling fruits to avoid high wastage of fruit, selling fruits online, following the policies and regulations within the area, and having plans in terms of changes or delay in transportation. Considerably, the most common coping mechanisms used in sales include the provision of discounts, selling during peak seasons, and keeping a loyal customer. Moreover, coping mechanisms used in business marketing include picking the right spot to sell fruits within the area, applying online selling, and communicating more to customers. The majority of the respondent's coping mechanisms used amidst the covid-19 pandemic in operation, sales, and marketing are very effective. Potential solutions were proposed to address the challenges experienced by the selected fruit vendors amidst the pandemic.
