Design Project of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with specialization of Stationary Marine Technology, Cavite State University -CCAT Campus, Rosario, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Mr. Josefino E. Ambayec. Technical Critic: Mr. Danilo G. Santiago. The study was conducted from August 2017 to May 2018 to develop and evaluate the positioning equipment for oxy-fuel gas cutting processes. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and construct an equipment for oxy-fuel gas cutting processes using locally available materials; 2) evaluate the performance of a positioning equipment for oxy-fuel gas cutting processes in terms of: a) functionality of the positioning equipment for oxy-fuel gas cutting processes; b) speed of cutting work pieces with varying thickness, and c) quality of cut work piece; and 3) conduct a cost analysis for positioning equipment for oxy-fuel gas cutting processes. The developed project was composed of the following major parts:1) adjustable and removable metal holder that served as the holder of the metal to be cut; 2) movable torch holder wherein the torch was attached; 3)funnel type molten metal receiver which will serve as the catcher of the excess molten metal during the cutting process; 4) cabinet wherein the molten metal from the funnel type reservoir will be kept;5)hand pedal which will be used as a controller to move the torch holder; 6) sprocket which was attached in the GI pipe and connected to the hand pedal that will help the machine to move the chain and torch holder; 7) chain which is attached to the sprocket that will assist the hand pedal in moving the torch holder; and8) metal railings that will serve as path of the torch holder to move. | ||
