The study was conducted from July 2015 to February 2016 to develop and evaluate a Go and No Go gage instrument. This study aimed to; 1) design the Go and No Go gage; 2) construct it using available supplies and material in the local market; 3) evaluate the functionality and accuracy of the project; and 4) conduct cost analysis of the project.
Go and No Go gage was constructed with 5 different sizes of 12mm,14mm, 16mm,18mm and 20mm. The instrument was used to determine the inside diameter of the pipe whether it was within the acceptable tolerance. The used of each gage was according to the diameter or the size of the hole of the work piece. The Go and No Go Gage was designed in accordance the International Tolerance Standard (ITS) and was machined with preciseness and ground to attain the desired surface finish.
The Go and No Go Gage was commonly used in machining and quality control of mass produced parts.
The accuracy in measurements of the Go and No Go Gage was more dependable than that of the Vernier Caliper and more convenient and faster to use.
