The study was conducted at Cavite State University Rosario Campus,Rosario, Cavite Electronics Building TVEP R-3 and Library from June 2015 to April 2017.The primary objective of the study was to develop and evaluate the noise detector with sound alarm. Specifically, the study aimed to 1) design a noise detector with sound alarm; 2) construct a noise detector with sound alarm from supply and materials available in the local market; 3) evaluate the performance of the prototype in terms of; a) sensitivity of sensor to detect any audible audio frequency within given distance, height of installation and time; b) safety of electronic circuitry with respect to change of temperature during its time of operation; and 4) conduct a cost analysis for the fabrication of noise detector with sound alarm.

The prototype was composed of different parts which include the power supply, condenser microphone, Arduino, amplifier circuit and loudspeaker. The power supply, serve as the source power of the whole circuit. The whole circuit was supplied by 220v AC.; condenser microphone, used as an input device that converts the sound into electrical; Arduino, a programmable circuit board that consist the programmed data or the output sound; amplifier circuit, serve as the passage of input signal and amplify/strengthen the output signal; and loudspeaker, which converts electrical signal into sound.

Measuring the distance, height of installation and the sensitivity of the microphone was done to evaluate the performance of the prototype. The sensitivity of the microphone can reach out the following source of sound like; falling book, pulling of chairs, normal conversation and phone ringing within the distance of 4 meters.

The prescribe height of installation was in 2 meters above the ground. Within the given source of sound and height of instillation the prototype automatically alarm with an output sound of“Please Keep Quiet”.

Testing and evaluation was conducted in 8 hours of operation. The accuracy of time was performed in three trials. Thermocouple was used to measure the temperature of the transformer in every hour.
