SUSTAL, ANTHONY M., TAMIO, GIDJETH M., and VITOBINA, STEVEN A., Development of an Integrated Pipe Cutting, Reaming and Threading Device. Undergraduate Project Design Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Stationary Marine Technology. Cavite State University-Rosario, Rosario, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Nestor Alvarez. The study was conducted from July 2015 to May 2016. The main objective of the study was to develop and evaluate a pipe cutting, reaming and threading device. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design integrated pipe cutting, reaming and threading device; 2) construct the device using available resources; 3) evaluate the performance of the device in terms of speed and accuracy in threading, reaming and cutting; and; 4) construct cost analysis for the operation of an integrated pipe cutting, reaming and threading. The developed integrated pipe cutting, reaming and threading device was composed of a bench wherein the pipe cutting, reaming and threading devices were installed. The pipe cutter cut the pipe according to size, the reamer removes the burrs of the internal diameter of the pipe and the thread cuts external threads on the pipe.
The devices were installed in the bench as to the sequence of procedures such as cutting, reaming and threading. The device was evaluated after several testing for its effectiveness. The finding of the study showed that the smaller the diameter of the pipe, the shortest the process of cutting, reaming and threading; the bigger the diameter of the pipe, the longer the time needed to cut, ream and thread a pipe; The developed prototype give ease and convenience in threading, cutting and reaming pipes. The total of the device was PHP. 17,994.80.
