The study was conducted from July 2015 to March 2017 to develop and evaluate a the fuel injector tester. Specifically, the study aimed to; 1) design and develop a fuel injector tester; 2) construct the device using locally available materials; 3) Evaluate the performance of the device in accordance to its operational limitations and measure the performance to the following test a) break-off pressure; b) operation in spray pattern; c) dribbling operation; 4) conduct cost analysis for the fuel injector tester.

This project was considered to contribute to the Automotive Technology Department an additional training device to help automotive student enhance their skills through actual simulation in hand-on activities and to help automotive instructors acquire a fuel injector tester.

The proponent considered the prototype the first of its kind in the campus to test diesel fuel injectors and to monitor if there was a problem. The fuel injector tester used on the monitoring of fuel spray and obstruction that blocks the flow of fluid inside injectors. The prototype was consist of hydraulic pump that capable of large amount of fluids from reservoir going to the fuel line connected to the injectors that hydraulically operated valve inserted to combustion chamber to metered the fuel. The total cost of the project was PHP. 14,221.00.
