BERIN AIRA D., BUNCAB ERICKA MAE S., CORTEZ, PATRICIA P., Antibacterial Property of Tawa-Tawa (Euphorbia Hirta) Leaves Extract Against Selected Bacteria. Cavite State University- Rosario. Research adviser: Dr. Norman Crucido
This study was conducted to determine the antibacterial property of tawa- tawa (Euphorbia hirta) leaves extract on selected bacteria specifically on the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli and to determine the effective concentration of the extract against these selected bacteria. The zones of inhibition produced around the improvised tawa- tawa leaves extract disc and the control were measured at the 24th and 48th hour of incubation.
Results indicated inhibitory effects of tawa-tawa leaves extract against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli even at the lowest concentration
Results of the study revealed no significant differences among treatment means at 24 and 48 hours of incubation of Pseudomonasaeruginosa
