Undergraduate Thesis. Cavite State University Rosario Campus. March 2011. Adviser: Mrs Caridad M. Merced. A study was conducted at Cavite State University Rosario Campus with the following objectives: to determine the environmental parameters such as ph, temperature, total dissolve solids, alkalinity and turbidity can affect the distribution of fecal coliform in Rosario and Tanza river( commonly known as the cañas riven), to determine the influenced of waste disposal activities that affect the microbiological quality of the Rosario and Tanza river (commonly known as the cañas river),and to determine the significant difference between the presence of fecal coliform in Cañas river from September to November. Water samples from Cañas River in Rosario and Tanza River Cavite, were collected for three consecutive months. Those were analyzed for the presence and concentration of fecal coliform. Several environmental parameters like (total dissolve solids, ph, alkalinity, temperature and turbidity) were also determined for possible relationship with the growth of fecal coliform samples were collected at two sampling sites from each river. Comparisons were made between Rosario and Tanza Cavite in terms of fecal coli form level during the sampling period. These rivers were generally considered truly polluted in terms of environmental and microbiological aspect. Higher concentrations may be due to the increasing human population along the two rivers.
