CONVENTO, WHISTLE E., Laboratory Science High School Department, Cavite State University Rosario Campus Rosario, Cavite, 2007-2008. "Effects of Different Amount of Coconut Water on the Growth of Pechay." Adviser: Mrs. Remedios G. Lisondra
This study entitled "Effects of Different amount of Coconut water on the Growth of Pechay." was conducted at Cavite State University Rosario Campus with the following objectives (1) Determine the effects of different amount of coconut water on the growth and the number of leaves. (2) Determine the concentration of coconut water that has the greatest ability to make the pechay plant grow.
RCBD (Randomized Complete Block Design) was used in the study with four treatments and two replications. These were: TO- (100mL of tap water), T1- (25mL of coconut water and 75mL of tap water), T2- (50mL of coconut water and 50mL of tap water), T3- (75mL of coconut water and 25mL of tap water). Based on findings with the use of descriptive analysis the following results are presented. In terms of height gained by pechay plant, T2-(50mL of coconut water and 50mL of tap water) found to have the greatest effects in increasing the height of pechay plant and have highest increase in the number of leaves. ANOVA table showed that there is no significant different among the treatments in the height gained and the number of leaves among pechay plants. The result showed that the different amount of coconut water had no significant effects on the growth of pechay, therefore, null hypothesis was accepted.
