The study was conducted develop a mobile application that can translate English words to Cebuano using voice recognition. Specially the study aimed to: 1) design he
interface. 2) evaluate and test the svstem: and implement the application in Andro1d
devices.
Fifty participants composed of Cebuanos, students and IT experts tested and evaluated the application. Based on the evaluation criteria used, the mobile application
gathered a total of 82.7/100. Which indicates that the application can be an effective communication tool. The system allows translation of Cebuanos, Tagalog and English words and
phrases and vice versa. It is primarily developed for Filipinos who have interest in learn the Cebuano dialect and for foreign people who visit or migrate in our country and
encounter difficulties in using the language.
