An Entrepreneurial Development Project named "LaSsOo" was conducted from November 17, 2008 to February 13, 2009 in San Juan I, General Trias, Cavite. The proponents contributed the initial capital of Php 1,050.00 to finance the project.
The project focus on the establishing of business enganged in the production and marketing operation and financial capability of "LaSsOo". It enables the entrepreneurs to develop their entrepreneurial skills in the preparation and deeper involvement in income generating enterprise. Specifically, it aims to describe and apply the practices and strategies followed in production and marketing of handstrap and lanyard, determine the profitability of food business and the financial performance of "LaSsOo" and identify the problem in this kind of business and find solution to the problems identified. "LaSsOo" is a partnership type of business, there is a quarterly rotation basis between the three proponents as Financial, marketing, and production manager. LaSsOo experienced some problems that the business encountered was the continous price increase of materials needed in producing product. To overcome this problem the entrepreneurs did some corrective action, first was buy wholesale of the ribbon and other material. A lot of things about managing a business applied, from planning, decision making and marketing. The proponents found out that in operating a business whether big or small requires appropriate planning and decision making. Unity and dedication among the proponents are truly needed. In addition to that, we also learned that the customer is the most important aspect of the business and valuing them is worthy for the business. Patience helped the proponents since they came up with different attitude. We also realized that preparing what product to offer and having who your market be are equally important.
Various management processes and practices specially in planning and controlling which involved a lot of decision making.
In the view of the fact that the project was well thought out as a small-scale business the entrepreneurs plan to purchase added tools and equipment, hire laborers to help out for the production and boost the volume of production to meet the demand for LaSsOo.
In addition, a continous research will be made to maintain the quality of the product but still capable to meet the buying power of every consumer is also part of future experience and knowledge acquired in managing the business will help us to achieve our success. The proponents also plan to add outlets in the different area of Cavite and even nationwide.
