This research study was conducted to determine the challenges and opportunities in the food cart franchise business in the city of General Trias, Cavite, in terms of planning, operation, sales, marketing, and staffing. The researchers utilized a descriptive research design in the conduct of the study. Moreover, the study used a purposive sampling technique in selecting food cart franchise businesses. The research study is limited to 30 food cart franchise owners as respondents in General Trias, Cavite. The study revealed that majority of the profile of the respondent's franchise business were business format type franchise, been operated 1 to 3 years, and has monthly net average income of less than Php 10,000. Majority of the challenges of the respondent's franchise business in terms of planning includes lack of an appropriate planning climate. In terms of operation, most of them have challenges consisting of limited manpower to complete the task. Moreover, in terms of sales, most of the challenges include increasing competitors. Additionally, in terms of marketing the most common challenges include promotion of products. Lastly in terms of staffing, the most common challenges include high competition. Majority of the perceived opportunities of the respondent's franchise business in terms of planning includes its ability to meet short and long- term obligation. Moreover, in terms of sales, most of th perceived opportunities include its affordability. Additionally, in terms of marketing, the most common perceived opportunities include its eye-catching food cart design. Lastly, terms of staffing. The most common perceived opportunities include effectiveness of staff function. The proponent provided, a solution to the common challenges faced by the franchise business owners.
