The study was conducted from June 2015 to August 2016 at Cavite State University Rosario Campus in TVEP Building to develop and evaluate the automatic motor and transformer rewinding machine. Specially this study aimed to: 1) design the automatic motor and transformer rewinding machine. 2) construct the automatic motor and transformer rewinding machine from supply and materials available in the local market. 3) evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of automatic motor and transformer rewinding machine in terms of the following: a. speed of rewinding different numbers of magnetic wire. b. accuracy of turn when winding different numbers of magnetic wire; c. temperature of the gear motor while rewinding 4) conduct a cost analysis for the automatic motor and transformer rewinding machine. The prototype was conducted with different parts such as: the single phase gear motor 220V, 60Hz, 1300rpm, as the prime mover of the machine; proximity switch sensor part that counts the number of turns the motor was making; digital counter was connected to the proximity sensor and displays the number of turns the motor was making. The developed prototype size was 70x40x36cm made by rectangular stainless as the body of the project. The gear motor has 220V AC enough to perform rewinding magnetic wires. It also has 220V Relay and 220V digital counter to set the number of turns that magnetic wires need. The accuracy of turns was checked by the number of turns the windings have by the number display on the digital counter. The speed of rewinding depends on the thickness of wire. The Automatic Motor and Transformer Rewinding Machine was operated by 220V source. The total cost of the prototype was PHP. 18,210.

ABSTRACT

PEDRASA, CHRISTOFER JOHN A., PLATA, IAN GLENN B. and PERINAL, MARK ERWINTON P. Development and Evaluation of Automatic Motor and Transformer Rewinding Machine. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Elctrical. Cavite State University, Rosario, Cavite. April 2017. Adviser: Mr. Nemrod Zoleta. Technical critic: Mr. Ariesthotle D. Arive.
