Design Project. Bachelor of Science Computer Science. Cavite State University-CCAT Campus, Rosario, Cavite. April 2019. Adviser: Mr. Allen Jhon C. Muyot.

The study was conducted from August 2018 to April 2019 to develop the mobile-based currency recognition and conversion application for bank personnel, money exchange office staff and common individual. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) gather information about foreign exchange values from reliable resources; 2) design the application with the following features: 2.1 a user-friendly interface, 2.2 maximize the use of web scraping and image processing algorithms using python and java programming languages, 2.3 conversion of currency, 2.4 recognition of currency; and 3) test the application using test cases, alpha and beta testing; 4) evaluate the application using adapted EIC ISO 25010; and 5) implement the application in a web server.

The developers used the iterative process model of system development to accomplish the E-FOREX. In this model, the process starts with a simple implementation of a small set of the software requirements, which iteratively enhances the evolving versions until the complete system is implemented and ready to be deployed.

The system was evaluated by twenty respondents composed of five IT experts of Cavite State University-Rosario, five bank personnel, and money exchange office staffs and ten other non-technical respondents including the students. The E-FOREX gained a total score of 4.51/5 for the end-users and 4.51/5 for the mobile developers suggesting an Excellent and Very Good performance.
">QUIDLAT, KAYLE LUIGIE C., BULDA, LERMA C.
