Technical critic: Mr. Richard V.Dela Peña<br/><br/>The study entitled as “Development of Digital Auto ACU Vacuum Pump with Leak Detector" was conducted at Automotive Technology Department of Cavite State University-Rosario Campus. The design, fabrication and evaluation of the prototype started last April 2016 and being conducted until May 2017. The objectives of the study was to develop and evaluate the Digital Auto ACU Vacuum Pump with Leak Detector. Specifically, the study aimed to; 1) designa Digital Auto ACU Vacuum Pump with Leak Detector, 2) construct a Digital Auto ACU Vacuum Pump with Leak Detector as to its lay-out, specification and principles of operation out of locally available materials, 3) evaluate the performance of the Digital Auto ACU Vacuum Pump with Leak Detector in terms of: a) maximum distance of leak detection; b) evacuation time refigerant/ air in the system; c) compare the performance of the two vacuum pumps. 4) compute for the fixed and variable cost of the project.<br/><br/>The digital auto ACU vacuum pump with leak detector was designed with compressor motor with 2 hp, digital vacuum gauge, digital pressure gauge, service hose, metal frame, caster wheel and leak detector It was designed and constructed for more convenient use to perform vacuuming of the auto air-con unit. The raw materials has cost Php.14, 979 while the labor cost reached Php.500.00. The total initial cost was Php. 15,479.<br/><br/>The digital auto ACU vacuum pump with leak detector performed effectivelyvacuuming auto ACU. Its performance was evaluated with different types of cars -singleunit compact size car, single unit medium size car and single unit SUV car with varying speed of operation in vacuuming process.
