Thesis Abstract <a href="DEITA, MARY JOY D., REYES, DYNA L., VILLANUEVA, EDEL G. Development of Mobile based Motorcycle Monitoring and Security System. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University-Rosario Campus, Rosario, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Engr. Gee Jay C. Bartolome. Technical critic: Daniel A. Villanueva.

Today motorcycles are the basic means of transportation in our country. Motorcycles offer more efficient transportation services and less fuel consumption compared with automobiles. It also allows easy movement and use of space between vehicles in a stationary or heavy traffic, avoiding or reducing the effects of urban vehicle congestion.

Motorcycles have been natural target for thieves. They are valuable and reasonably easy to resell. It was not surprising that some of motorcycle owner are looking for and invested on alarm systems. Some of the modern motorcycle are equipped a loud alarm and expensive lock system.

In this paper, the researchers experimentally designed and developed modern alarm system that can help the motorcycle owners monitor and secure their motorcycle. The system was developed using global positioning system (GPS) and global system for mobile communication (GSM). Mobile communication was incorporated to secure the motorcycle by using cellular technology (to transmit the information to and from a mobile phone). The system intends to control the motorcycle using mobile phone
integrated with the remote control via microcontroller to communicate with the motorcycle.
