manage a business from planning, decision making and implementing. They learned how
to look for a good and strategic location which is important in starting a business. They also learned how to handle duties and responsibilities in actual business.
The terms of sale of TORIHAMU were through cash basis. As the customers avail the product, they paid the amount of what they purchased. This was the same with the companies which availed the product. The proponents also used the credit basis for those who order their products. They allotted seven days for the payment of the credits made. Most of the sales of TORIHAMU came from the orders of Jollibee Tanza employees, Goldrich employees, faculty, staff and students of CvSU - Rosario and neighbors of the proponents.
The proponents used the marketing strategy, free taste wherein they introduce it to their relatives and friends and they request for immediate feedback about the taste and appearance of the chicken. And they also applied the other marketing strategy like leafleting, sales call, telemarketing and social networking like Facebook. It was big help to increase the sales of the product. They also made sure that they delivered the orders on time.
In a big or even small business there's always a problem that will be encountered. As a first timer, the proponents know that they have to face different challenges and one of the problem experienced by the entrepreneurs that they were upset and almost lost their hope in marketing their product.
During the operation of this project, the entrepreneur encountered some problems. First was the capital, the proponents have only Php.15, 000 that is not enough to buy all the needed equipment for the production. So to solve this problem, the proponents borrowed it from their relatives.
Second, was lack of manpower. The proponents encountered difficulty in production process because bulk orders were received on December 23 and 24 2011. In this case the proponents decided to do it over night. Also in December 30, there were only two who persons prepared the orders because one of the proponents suffered from an accident.
Third, was limited equipment. The proponents only had one turbo that can only cook two chickens in 15-20 minutes the proponents begin early to meet their deliveries on time.
Last is gaining the trust of customer to buy the product. As a new product in the market, the customers think that our product chicken ham is not delicious and safe. The proponents offered free taste to the customer and told them that the chicken was purchased in supermarket and the process in making chicken ham was done in a clean kitchen.
To have a successful business, the proponents' acted jointly, organized every essential thing in the business, and respected the functions, duties and responsibilities of each member. One of the factors of success is implementing the basic management functions- planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling.
