The proposed project was named Chewy Pinipig Deli. It is said to be chewy because the product is sticky that needs to be chewed gently to taste the sweetness of the product and the word "pinipig" is the main ingredient of the product ant thus product can be classified as a delicacy. Production and marketing of Chewy Pinipig Deli were the main activities of the business. Chewy Pinipig Deli were produced and sold per piece and per pack. Chewy Pinipig Deli started its operation on November 21, 2008 with the initial capital of Php1, 500.00 which was equally shared by the three entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs who operated the business are Marielle O. Castro, Arlyn A. Legaspi and Shayne S. Parre. The capital was used in purchasing the raw materials and some tools and equipment.
The product was conducted to provide the students an opportunity to apply general knowledge in business management to actual experience and to develop the marketing strategy. Specifically it aimed to describe and apply the practices and strategies followed in production and marketing operations of the project, determine the profitability of Chewy Pinipig Deli and identify problems and find solutions to the problems identified.
The entrepreneurs encountered the lack of raw materials that greatly affected the operation of the business, so that the proponents decided to purchase some of those materials that are enough for a one whole week operation.
Another problem encountered by the business was those people who are price conscious or thrifty. They thought that the price of the product was too expensive for that, that's why the proponents explained one by one the ingredients of the product.
It is recommended for beginners that the business should have a proper planning either long range planning or a short range planning. But, this plan may not happen when the entrepreneurs not have enough capital to start the business that's why capital is very much important. The entrepreneurs must be innovative because the consumers always seek for something new. It is important that the entrepreneurs listen to the needs and wants of a consumer and conceived a product that will satisfy those needs and wants. And the entrepreneurs must be a good communicator because there are different consumers with different attitudes.
