The study was conducted from September 2017 to June 2018 to develop a road ramp power generator as alternative energy source. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and construct a road ramp power generator as alternative energy source which can harness electricity from the weight of the vehicles from available parts and materials in the local market; 2) evaluate the prototype according to the following parameters; generated voltage of de generator and piezoelectric sensor as factor of the different masses applied; theoretically average mass required to fully charge the battery; 3) evaluate the technological design of the prototype in terms of the; functionality; construction; realizability; impact; presentation; and 4) conduct a cost and analysis.

This study emphasizes on the idea that there is a possibility to harness electrical energy from the wasted kinetic energy of the vehicle. Because we all know that vehicle on the road was increasing gradually with every passing day and so much kinetic energy from it was being wasted. Those wasted kinetic energy from the vehicle can be harness through the speed breaker to generate electricity and stored it into battery. The main purpose of this study was to develop a speed breaker that can harness electricity from the wasted kinetic energy of the vehicle.

The vehicles with ground clearance greater than 160 mm and below 3500 kg weight were used as the primary subject to perform the operation. Two parameters tested, the voltage output of the de generator and piezoelectric sensor and the percentage.
