Social Dimensions of Education is one of the theory and concept courses in the new teacher education curriculum for Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education which is implemented by all teacher education institutions in the Philippine by virtue of Commission on Higher Education (CHED Memorandum No. 30, s. 2004.
The Primary intent of this course is to introduce education students to social science theories and research as they relate to education. An understanding and analysis of various topics such as intercultural communication, gender, and globalization as they relate to education shall be presented in the different chapters of the book. The four pillars of education, a part of 21st century published by UNESCO in 1996, was included to provide readers new insights into education for the 21st century.
